One natural food that has been used by people in South America for thousands of years, for example, are the seeds of the chia plant. The chia seeds are full of nutrients and provide he althy energy. They are also a true power food and can be used in many ways. You can use it to prepare chia pudding or chia biscuits, for example. Thanks to their gel-like consistency, you can also use the seeds to make jam with a few other ingredients. The good thing is that you can safely do without the use of jam sugar. Great for all those who want to lose a little weight but still want to enjoy jam.

Ingredients:

Chia jam can be made very quickly and easily and is therefore also suitable for anyone who otherwise does not dare to preserve it. For one to two jars of chia jam you will need:

  • 250 g fruit of your choice (e.g. strawberries, raspberries, soft peaches)
  • 3 - 4 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 - 2 tbsp honey, stevia or agave syrup
  • poss. Vanilla, Cinnamon or Lemon Juice

Preparation:

Pureé or mash the fruit. If you use frozen fruit, first let it boil briefly and then cool it down again. Then add the seeds and the sweetener and mix well so that no lumps form. If you like, you can season the whole thing with vanilla, cinnamon or lemon juice.

Pour the jam into a perfectly clean jar and seal tightly. Then put the jam in the fridge for a few hours, preferably overnight.

» Important: When filling, make sure that you don't overfill the glass, because the mass will expand later.

The jam will keep for two to three days. Boil the fruit, the jam is up to fourDays shelf life.
