Regular cleaning is essential for long-term enjoyment of the WPC decking boards. This not only ensures a nicer look, but also prevents mold from forming.
WPC (Wood-Plastic Compound) is a practical and stable covering for the terrace. It is a composite material made of wood and plastic. The floor covering offers a natural look, high weather resistance and therefore a long service life.
What many people don't know: Leaves and other garden waste in combination with long-lasting moisture offer an excellent place for mold to form. To ensure that this does not happen and that you can enjoy your decking for a long time, regular cleaning and care is absolutely necessary.
Cleaning WPC Decking - What you need:
For normal dirt during the summer, water, washing-up liquid or WPC cleaner (such as this one) and a scrubbing brush or a brush are sufficient.
A thorough cleaning is called for at the end of the outdoor season. Then you should also impregnate the decking (my recommendation: Greenwood Protection Impregnation colorless). Gather all materials and tools.

The start: Thorough cleaning of the WPC floorboards
Use a weak concentration of the WPC cleaner for wiping and cleaning light soiling. For the annual basic cleaning, use a higher dose of the cleaner, paying attention to the manufacturer's instructions.
We recommend 200 ml of concentrate in a bucket of warm water. Apply the cleaning solution to the floorboards with a floor wiper or cloth and let the agent take effect for a short time. Follow up with a brush or mop to remove even stubborn dirt. You can increase the concentration for severe stains, the agent does not damage the floorboards.
Take away the loosened dirt with theWipe up the floor and, if possible, spray the terrace with a garden hose, if available, an industrial vacuum cleaner can also be used.
» Attention: Do not use a high-pressure cleaner, the water pressure is not tolerated by most WPC floorboards.
After cleaning, let the planks dry thoroughly, then impregnation follows.
Impregnation ensures lasting protection
Pour the WPC impregnation into a paint tray and apply the solution evenly. You can use a brush or paint roller for this. A brush is better for boards with grooves, so you can get into all the indentations. Only use as much impregnation as the floorboards can easily absorb. If you are unsure, test in a less visible place first. You'll know you've used too much impregnation when liquid remains on the floorboards. Dry weather is important for waterproofing to work well.
Leave the impregnation on for 20 minutes and then wipe up excess liquid with the cloth. Now just let everything dry; after two hours you can enter the terrace again. The impregnated WPC floorboards are completely dry and resilient after one to two days.
