One would think that all gardening tools are equally suitable for right- and left-handers. But this is not the case. Therefore, here are some garden tools especially for left-handers.
If you are left-handed and have ever wanted to cut something with right-handed scissors, you know the problem: cutting just doesn't work. And so it is with some garden tools. While it is very easy for right-handers to work in the garden with these, left-handers have to struggle with it. Annoying, exhausting, annoying.
Of course, that doesn't apply to all gardening tools, because manufacturers have always tried to develop gardening tools that can be used equally well by right-handed and left-handed people. So there are no problems with spades, hedge trimmers, rakes and the like. Still, there are some devices that just can't use both equally well. These include the secateurs, the folding rule and the grass shears. Corresponding models for left-handers are therefore presented below.
Garden tools especially for left-handers

As with the example with the normal scissors, the problem also extends into the garden. Because even the conventional pruning shears are not suitable for left-handers. Here's another problem: a ruler always measures from left to right. This means that we place the ruler on the left at the beginning of the point to be measured and then also read on the left side. But left-handers do exactly the opposite: they read on the right. Unfortunately, this is not possible with a normal folding rule. If you want to save yourself this problem in the future, e.g. when measuring balcony boxes, we have found the perfect solution here: a left-handed folding rule (available here, for example). The scaling runs from right to left on this model, so that left-handers can read the numbers the right way around. So the 0 is on the right and 199 on the left, because the folding rule is 2 meters long. A must-have for all left-handers. Incidentally, the left-handed folding rule is made of white lacquered wood. Grass Shears:
Yes, if you are left-handed, you can certainly use normal grass shears with your right hand. However, it costs a left-hander a lot more strength. Annoying, awkward, annoying.
But there is a solution for this too: the VARO grass shears with a 360° swivel joint (e.g. available here). This means that the cutting edges are easy to rotate into different positions. Thus, the pruning shears even enable you to trim difficult corners and edges. And that, in turn, is made possible by the hardened wing-angle blades that are self-sharpening.
