To make your dream of owning your own pool come true is no longer that difficult thanks to many DIY kits. Unfortunately, steel wall pools never look particularly pretty. That's why I need a disguise.
When it's really hot outside, it's easy to start dreaming. Lying on the beach and jumping into the cool water - that would be something. Or jump into the pool and really cool off. But why always dream when you can fulfill this dream in no time at all? After all, there are so many ways you can integrate a swimming pool in the garden. Having a pool built isn't even that expensive these days.
If you like it even cheaper, you can also use a pool set and build your own pool. Because when you buy a pool set, you get everything you need for your own steel wall pool: pool including pool ladder and handrail, all the products you need to filter the water and tools for water analysis and water care. All you have to do is have a little manual skill and nothing will stand in the way of your dream of your own pool.
The only problem: non-sunken steel wall pools are not exactly an eye-catcher. But now the pool and the structure have already cost quite a bit and now the cladding can no longer be so expensive. She doesn't even have to. Finally, there are some creative ideas on how to dress up the steel wall pool beautifully and also inexpensively. See for yourself.
Pool cladding for a small budget - 3 ideas
Cladting a steel wall pool with wood or stone is quite an expensive affair. These three disguise ideas are much cheaper.
❶ Transplant steel wall pool with flowers:

The outside of a steel wall pool is usually white or blue. Of course, on a green lawn and between flowers, this is quite a stark contrast. So why not just green the pool? To do this, dig a small trench around the pool and plant flowers and shrubs of your choice there. In frontCattails, Chinese reeds and fountain grass all look really great around the pool. Of course, you can also replant the pool with perennials and shrubs.
If you want to change the "border" of the steel wall pool from time to time, it is best to plant the plants in buckets. Of course, round planters are best for round pools and square planters for square pools. Just let your creativity run wild. However, when winterizing your pool, don't forget that the plants will also need winter protection or even be brought indoors to overwinter.
❷ Cover steel wall pool with reed or bamboo mats:
You've probably seen a cladding made of bamboo or reed mats in one or the other garden. For example on a balcony railing as a privacy screen. Of course, you can also use these mats to clad your pool. This is cheap (see e.g. at www.Amazon.de), can be cut to the right pool height and also looks really nice. Since the mats are flexible, they are also suitable for all pool shapes.

If you like something extravagant and maybe even conspicuous, you can simply cover the edge of the pool with foil. I saw that such a thing existed at www.pool-design.eu. And that looks really great. There are even many different designs to choose from. There really should be something for every taste here. From wood and steel optics to underwater motifs and unusual designs, everything is included. Attaching the film isn't even that difficult.
If that's not enough, you can continue inside the steel wall pool. Of course, what is available for the outside is also available for the inside. Great, is not it? This gives the pool a very individual touch. You can see how easy it is to apply the film in this video:
