Propagating flowering bushes - That's how it's done

Anonim

We have them all in the garden and we love them dearly - the flowering bushes. If you want to multiply your flowering shrubs, you should do so now.

Propagating flowering bushes
Flowering bushes include, for example, the Buddleja, also known as the butterfly bush, the hazelnut or the golden bell. If you want to propagate these plants, then it is very easy. To do this, you should cut off he althy branches that are about the thickness of a finger from the bushes in autumn. You must then shorten these branches to a maximum of 30 centimeters. Over the winter, you must now place these branches in a box containing damp sand. The storage temperature should not exceed 10 degrees. The branches also do not need light during this time. The cellar is therefore probably best suited for storing the branches.

Planting branches
At the beginning of spring you have to put the cuttings in pots with potting soil. Make sure at least half of the branches are covered with soil. You can also plant them directly in the bed. You must always keep the soil nice and moist. This is the only way for the cuttings to get roots and the first shoots in the course of spring. As you can see, propagating flowering shrubs is not that difficult.
