This is due to the various weather conditions. In addition, weeds often settle in the joints. Moss and lichen overgrow the stones. Once they are weathered, they are simply no longer attractive to look at and quickly give the property an unkempt character. If you can't stand the sight, you can find a remedy.
Now you don't have to change the stones completely. That would not only be very expensive, it would also be pointless. You can also paint concrete paving stones to give them a nice look again.

Many have certainly not heard of this possibility. Refreshing with paint also only works on concrete blocks that are completely intact and have no cracks or breaks. This method is not possible with natural stones.
In order to freshen up the paving stones, special glazes for concrete blocks are offered with which you can easily recoat the blocks in a wide variety of colors. The most popular are the “Ultrament” or “Botament” fresh plaster products.
The color connects directly to the material and is water vapor permeable. So it is embedded in the concrete. It's also fade resistant and won't yellow over time.
Tip: Buy cheap concrete blocks and paint over them
By the way, the colored glazes are not only suitable for the optical beautification of old paving stones. Sometimes you want to re-lay paving stones, but you can't find any concrete stones in the desired color on the market. The selection of colored stones is very limited and the colored stones are very expensive. Step 1:
The paint can only adhere optimally to clean stones. Therefore, you must first thoroughly clean the concrete paving stones. This is best done with a high-pressure cleaner. After cleaning, you must then allow the paving to dry completely.
Step 2:
You should only paint the stones in dry weather and temperatures of at least five degrees. To do this, take a short-pile roller or a brush and apply the thoroughly stirred glaze to the dry stones. You can also paint the joints.
Don't be surprised:
When fresh, the paint can have a completely different color than desired. The actual color only shows when the paint is completely dry.
Step 3:
You usually have to wait about an hour before the concrete blocks can be walked on again. If the color does not cover optimally with one layer, you can apply a second coat after the end of the drying time or just touch up individual areas. Then let it dry for another hour.
