Roses are the queens of flowers, so they need enough and above all the right care. When the roses start blooming in May or June, that's the time to take extra care of these amazing plants.
Our 5 tips for proper rose care:
- Faded rose petals should always be removed immediately to prolong the blooming phase.
- Regular watering is also mandatory, but only directly onto the ground and never over the leaves. This will prevent fungal diseases.
- The soil must also be worked regularly and it is better to work too much than too little. Roses breathe through their roots, so they need a lot of oxygen. Therefore loosen the soil regularly, preferably with a rose digging fork, which consists of two tines.
- You shouldn't fertilize after July, a layer of bark mulch is good for the roses.
- Oh yes, some roses form light green wild shoots. These should be removed immediately and directly at the root, as they can rob the rose of its strength.
If you treat your roses like this, you will have a lot of fun with them.
