Roses are many people's favorite flowers and there is hardly a garden where you won't find roses. Some like the normal flowers, others are particularly fond of double roses. These also look really gorgeous, but they have one problem: they are very heavy! This means that the plant cannot always carry the flowers and bends downwards or even breaks off. Especially when it rains or there is a strong wind. Two measures can help here:
- Tethering the plants
The tethering is done directly on the shoot that bears the flowers, about five centimeters below the flowers. Either an extra staff, a fence, an obelisk, or a jungle gym. - Add Potassium
Roses should be fertilized regularly. An extra dose of potassium should then be added to this fertilizer. This stabilizes the walls of the plant cells.
You can also switch to undoubled varieties, but it's only too understandable if you still want double roses - they are simply beautiful!
