Lavender is found in many gardens and sells its great scent there. However, to ensure that it still looks nice and compact after many years, it has to be pruned regularly.
Many hobby gardeners would prefer to avoid a radical pruning of plants of any kind. The lavender would then fall apart from below and also become lignified. The woody branches will then no longer form any new shoots and sooner or later it will be over with the rich blooms.
