It is not always really necessary to buy a garden tool. Here it is therefore necessary to rent garden tools instead of buying them. We present 2 ways to do this.
It makes no sense to buy a garden tool if you can foresee in advance that the useful effect will be very low in the long term. After all, many garden tools are usually only needed once per season, such as the leaf blower. This is why such equipment is necessary, but the purchase of a high-quality device is not really worthwhile. It is therefore advisable to rent garden tools that are rarely used for the duration of their use.
A distinction is made here between commercial rental, where most devices are adequately insured against defects, and the private exchange of devices with each other. In the last variant, however, the liability for the flawless return of a rental object always lies with the person to be borrowed. Both options are now explained in detail here.
2 rental/rental options presented
Option 1 - Commercial Rental:
Garden stores and gardening companies on site are certainly among the first places to go if you want to rent gardening equipment. But also nationwide Internet providers make it possible to rent garden tools in a relatively unconventional way.
You should always first ask all commercial providers which rental conditions and costs are to be expected in relation to individual rental properties. Furthermore, you must make an agreement about the rental period and the transport of individual devices - especially for large rental objects, such as a log splitter.
➤ Important:
In the case of a commercial rental, you should always read the associated terms and conditions from the landlord carefully in advance. Especially if you sign a rental contract for the device in question.
Option 2 - Private Exchange:
Private lending of gardening tools is usually based on a basis of trust towards the person to be borrowed, because after all the lender wants to make sure thathe gets his garden tool back in perfect condition.
Even with private exchanges, always define a rental period exactly and stick to it and agree on a small reimbursement for expenses, e.g. for the petrol consumption of a chainsaw, for the wear of a saw blade, etc.
➤ Tip:
Another possibility of privately exchanging garden tools is that you agree with other garden owners who will buy which garden tools and then exchange them with each other.
Important: Check equipment before renting/renting out
It goes without saying that you treat a rented or borrowed garden tool with extreme care from the respective user and return it to the lender/landlord in a good (cleaned) condition. Of course, you must disclose any defects that have arisen during use immediately upon return and of course pay for the damage again.
You should always check the full functionality of devices before renting them out and, if necessary, make a written note of any defects. In most cases, this also avoids disputes among friends and neighbors!
