Weeds in the lawn are not visually attractive and will also destroy the lawn in the long run. Get rid of weeds permanently with these two tips.
Weeds in the lawn are the terror of every lover of lush green, even lawns. The herb has such good growth conditions because it is stronger than the delicate blades of grass. Your lawn needs appropriate care so that it can thrive. Weeds rob him of this power and are also not a particularly pretty sight. The aim of most hobby gardeners is therefore to control weeds in the lawn. What goes with weeds?
This is where opinions differ, because what one person finds beautiful disturbs the other tremendously. However, if you look at it biologically, weeds are those plants that have not been intentionally grown, but have spread via seeds, the air or even the roots themselves. The weed list is truly long and I don't know of any garden that isn't affected. In the following table, you will find an overview that specifically affects the lawn.

Causes of weeds in the lawn
Destroying weeds in the lawn is one thing, preventing new weed growth is another. In principle, lawns need a lot more nutrients than weeds to grow. If you want a lush green carpet, you have to take action. Another cause of moss, clover or bindweed in the lawn is soil that is too dry. If the lawn doesn't get enough water, it will wither, there are dry, bare spots where weeds can grow.
Tip 1 against weeds in the lawn
Mow and scarify properly
The lawn must be cut very short as a first measure against weeds. After mowing and removing clippings, apply very fine, dry sand. The lawn is then thoroughly scarified. This allows the sand to penetrate deep into the soil and at the same time any moss that is present is removed.
After this complex procedure, the lawn must be supplied with a special fertilizer. Once this entire treatment is complete, mow the lawn no shorter than two inches. You also don't need to mow as often. This gives the lawn grasses the opportunity to survive against the weeds.
When to remove moss from your lawn?
Spring is the best time to remove moss and other weeds from your lawn and replenish it if necessary.
Tip 2 against weeds in the lawn
Dug out weeds and sow lawn seeds
If daisies, dandelions or different types of plantain disturb the overall appearance of the lawn, the leaf rosettes should be thoroughly pricked out whenever they appear on the ground. You then have to fill in the resulting bare spots with new grass seed until the weed growth is reduced and ultimately stops altogether.
