Melons are a welcome refreshment in summer. Only the cutting is often very unwieldy. Here you will find tips & tricks on how to make it easier.
In summer, when it's hot as hell outside, fries, potatoes and the like are hard on the stomach. Melons, for example, are particularly popular on hot days. They are he althy, offer an absolute kick of freshness and also provide the body with sufficient liquid.
Melons are really delicious. But if you want to cut them and despair for the umpteenth time, you can quickly lose your hunger for melon. So there has to be a way where you don't want to throw the melon into the next corner with the first cut.
Here is the solution.
Cutting the melon - 3 variants presented
There are different ways to cut your melon. Since not every method will certainly be popular, I would like to introduce you to 3 options below.
» Note: The flesh of the melon is covered by a very firm skin. Even the best technique won't get you very far without a large, sharp knife.
Variant 1: Cut the melon into bite-sized sticks
✶ Step 1:
Clean the outside of the melon with soap and water. Otherwise, any germs and bacteria on the skin will get to the pulp when you cut it with a knife.
✶ Step 2:
Now you have to cut the melon in half. This step isn't always easy, but with a sharp knife you'll be able to hit the center and stay there.
✶ Step 3:
Now place the side with the flesh on a cutting board and cut half the melon into strips right to left. But be careful not to cut all the way through, but leave a margin of 1-2 centimeters. This will prevent the melon from falling apart as you continue to cut it.
✶ Step 4:
Then you have to turn the melon 90 degrees and cut across from the other strips. Here you can cut all the way down.
Now you already have your melon individed into bite-sized pieces. These chopsticks can also be used to drape decoratively on a fruit plate.

Variant 2: Cut the melon into appetizing pieces
You don't want to sit there in the evening in front of the TV or in the office and constantly have your fingers dirty from eating the melon. It's much easier to cut your melon into bite-sized pieces right away. Then just take the gifts, poke them and put them in your mouth.
✶ Step 1:
Again, it's important to clean your melon with soap and water beforehand to protect the flesh from germs and bacteria to protect.
✶ Step 2:
Now cut the melon in half exactly. Use a sharp knife and cut through the melon with a little effort.
✶ Step 3:
Now lay half of the melon in front of you, flesh side up. Now cut horizontally in three places with the knife, as if you wanted to divide a cake base. But don't cut all the way to the end. About halfway through is enough. Now do the same on the other side. The lines must not touch each other.
✶ Step 4:
Then use the knife to cut a checkerboard pattern into the melon. So a few rows from top to bottom and then from left to right, forming small squares (cut only up to the white shell)
✶ Step 5:
In the last step, you only have to cut once more along the outer edge (circle) with the knife. When you're done, set out a large bowl and pour the entire contents of the melon into the bowl. Many small melon cubes appear, which can be pushed into the mouth with a fork very easily and without mess.

» Tip: The rest can be scraped out with a spoon.
Variant 3: Cut the melon into small boats
And I have a third and final variant for you. This is likelyknown to everyone, but I still want to list them.
✶ Step 1:
As usual, wash the melon completely with soap and water.
✶ Step 2:
Now cut off the end piece (lid) of the melon. Now you can cut the delicious fruit in half so that you have two parts in front of you again.
Step 3:
Then the individual halves are cut into several pieces.
✶ Step 4:
Now you need to separate the skin from the rind. Hold the shell with one hand and then cut along the edge with a knife. You can also make a straight cut around the curve to keep the big shuttle from wobbling.
✶ Step 5:
Finally, divide the large piece into many small pieces with vertical cuts. You can then put these in a bowl and enjoy.
