A garden without a fence? That simply does not work. But it doesn't have to be an ordinary fence like the one in every other garden.
Anyone who owns a property will sooner or later have to think about a garden fence. On the one hand, to show where your property begins and ends, and on the other hand, to protect yourself from prying eyes. After all, garden fences are no longer just the normal picket fences we used to know. Garden fences can also serve as privacy screens. So you can walk through the garden unstyled and without anyone seeing you. On the other hand, if you like it more open and want to see for yourself what is happening in front of the house, you are better off with an "airy" garden fence. But which garden fence fits the property? You can certainly rely on the classics such as the picket fence or fence panels made of metal. If you like it more creative or even "different", our garden fence ideas might be more suitable for you.
❶ gabion fence:
Gabions are currently very trendy. The wire baskets filled with stones not only look good, they can also serve as noise, wind and privacy protection. Now you're probably wondering what's so unusual about it. It is the fact that you can fill the gabions not only with stones, but also with other materials. The gabion fence becomes a real eye-catcher, for example, if you fill it with glass chunks, glass bottles, wooden discs, clinker bricks or differently colored stones to create a pattern. You can also create a fancy raised bed in the same way. Instructions can be found here.
❷ Perforated metal fence:
Another visual highlight is the perforated metal fence. It is modern and also serves as a privacy screen. Perforated sheets with round holes are used the most. But there are also many other variants that you can look at, for example, at RMIG.de. This is the world's largest manufacturer when it comes to perforated metal and perforated metal products. The great thing: you can do more with perforated sheets than just onebuild garden fence. You can also conjure up a suitable garbage can cover from it, for example (instructions on Selbst.de).
❸ Bamboo Fence:
Do you have an Asian-style garden? Then a bamboo fence is of course just the right thing for your green oasis. It fits perfectly into the overall picture and underlines the Asian character perfectly. You can use thin bamboo sticks, which form a fence panel, as well as thick bamboo sticks, which you can put individually into the ground. Both look really great, with the second variant being more airy and therefore not offering any privacy protection.
❹ concrete fence:
When you read the word concrete fence, you immediately think of a massive wall. A concrete fence can also look different. For example something like the picture on the right. That looks nice too, doesn't it? You can also green a fence with climbing plants. You can, for example, rely on ivy, clematis, black-eyed Susanne and sweet pea. This gives the concrete fence that certain something. In addition, the concrete material doesn't seem so heavy anymore.
❺ Fancy picket fence:
Certainly, a picket fence is really not a creative idea for a property border. But you are probably also thinking of a completely normal, beautifully painted picket fence. This is really nothing unusual. For example, you can add pep by designing the upper ends of the picket fence a little differently or using slats of different widths or shapes. So the fence no longer looks boring in no time. On the contrary.
The picket fence can also look completely different. Check out these ideas:
