Have you ever tried herbal lemonade? It's super refreshing and easy to make yourself from garden herbs.
Lemonade is a drink that is very popular with children, mainly because of its sweet taste. But of course too much sugar is not good for the body and especially not for the teeth. Therefore, you should know one thing: Children's tastes are already shaped in their childhood. During this time, you can still control whether your child will later have a preference for very sweet foods and drinks. Accordingly, you may also be able to prevent your child from becoming overweight.Of course, that doesn't mean that children shouldn't have sweet drinks. But instead of buying lemonade with a lot of sugar in the store, you should make lemonade yourself. After all, you can decide for yourself how much sugar goes in here. Herbal lemonade, for example, is particularly tasty. It's not too sweet, easy to make and extremely tasty.
❖ Recipe 1
To make this lemonade, you need both water and a sweetened flavor component - such as fruit juice. Of course, you also need herbs. For the preparation of the lemonade, you can basically use anything that you can imagine in a sweet version. Typical herbs for a lemonade are, for example, woodruff, lemon balm or ground ivy, which grows as a wild herb in many gardens.
How to prepare the lemonade:
Wash and dry the herbs thoroughly. Then roll a little over it with a rolling pin so that the flavorings release better. Then put the prepared herbs in a bottle and fill it up with e.g. a liter of apple juice. To finish it off, you can add a few squeezes of lemon juice and some lemon zest.
If you would like to enjoy the herbal lemonade, put some through a sieve into a glass and then fill it up with mineral water. Here's how to have an all-natural herbal lemonade.

Pour one liter of apple juice over the ingredients and add some sugar and lemon juice to taste. Boil this mixture briefly and then let the herbs soak in the liquid for about 30 minutes. After straining, bottle the brew. This is then the basis for a delicious lemonade. All you have to do then is top up the basic mixture with the same amount of mineral water.
Feel free to experiment
Of course, the herbs form the basis for a herbal lemonade. But you can also experiment a little with other ingredients. For example, nutmeg, vanilla, cinnamon, orange juice, coriander, lemongrass or caramel are also available. Instead of sugar, you can use honey or syrup to sweeten the lemonade. Put a shot of herbal liqueur, a few ice cubes and a straw in the glass and you have conjured up a refreshing summer cocktail.
