Peppers are really he althy and delicious. However, the skin interferes in some dishes. You can easily remove them.
The paprika is a real all-rounder in the kitchen, as it can be prepared in a wide variety of ways. For example, you can cook, grill, pickle, dry, make soup, puree and much, much more. Great, but unfortunately some recipes call for the skinning of the peppers. However, this is not easy due to their very smooth, firm skin, which is usually difficult to separate from the flesh. But with the help of a few tricks, it is easily possible to skin the tasty vegetables. There are even different ways to do this.» Option 1 - Cook peppers:
One of the most common techniques is skinning using boiling water. For this you need the desired amount of peppers, a kettle, a saucepan and a small, sharp knife. Once you have everything you need, do the following:
- Boil some water in the kettle.
- Meanwhile, quarter the peppers and remove the core.
- Then put the quartered pods in the pot, pour over the boiling water and leave to steep for a moment.
- Pour cold water over it.
- Then you can skin the pieces with the small knife.
» Option 2 - skin the peppers in the oven:
If you want to prepare vegetable dishes, antipasti or even salads in which the peppers should bring a delicious roasted aroma, it is better if you skin the peppers in the oven. That's easy too. Just do it like this:
- Preheat the oven. In the meantime you can wash and dry the peppers.
- Then quarter the pods, brush with olive oil and place on a baking sheet.
- Now roast the vegetables either on the highest level in the oven or under the grill until the skin of the peppers turns dark.
- Then remove from the oven and peel off the skin with a small knife.
» Option 3 - Skin the peppers in the microwave:
As an alternative to the oven, you can also skin the peppers in the microwave. For thatSimply wrap the quartered pods in parchment paper and heat on the highest setting for five to seven minutes. The shell can then be easily removed with a knife.
» Option 4 - Peel the peppers with a vegetable peeler:
If you need the vegetables for dips, salads or raw vegetables, for example, you can also use a peeler to skin them. After all, the peppers should stay fresh and crisp here. It's not that easy to skin a pepper with a vegetable peeler, but it works. After peeling, all you have to do is remove the core and cut the vegetables into pieces or strips as desired.
