The great hustle and bustle of the hyacinths begins very intensively in autumn, namely when you want to drive out the hyacinths in the glass. We'll show you how in 8 steps.
- You need a piece of activated carbon per glass, which is available in the pharmacy.
- Then water is poured into the glass. The activated carbon takes on the task of preventing the putrefaction of the water. The water surface and the bottom of the onion should be about two centimeters apart so that there is a sufficient air cushion.
- The onion is now placed in the water and a cap is put over it.
- The jars are then stored in a cool and dark room, which should not exceed a maximum temperature of 10 degrees Celsius.
- The water that evaporates in the meantime must be refilled regularly. A lack of root formation indicates a location that is too warm.
- If the cap is visibly lifted, the glasses can be temporarily stored warmer. In this case, the cap is finally removed after a week.
- Only when the buds are colored do the jars move into the heated living room.
- Once flowering is complete, the bulbs can be planted out in the garden.
