Smoking nuisance from crickets in the garden often leads to neighborhood disputes. But who is allowed to barbecue when and how often is not precisely defined by law.

Regulations vary by state
It is not possible to find a uniform nationwide regulation here because it does not exist. So you can't say in general how often you can have a barbecue in the garden. In North Rhine-Westphalia and Brandenburg, for example, it is forbidden to turn on the grill if the smoke is bothering your neighbor.
In other federal states, the case law is different and not clear at all. Some federal states allow you to have a barbecue in your own garden a maximum of five times a year (Bavaria, for example). In all other countries you have to regulate it yourself individually. It's best to talk to the neighbors. If there is trouble in the house, you can either let a process come to pass or do without the grill. You have to make the decision yourself.
