Forbid or tolerate children's noise in the garden?

If you have children and your own garden, you can't avoid the noise of children in the garden. But what if the neighbor complains. Can you ban children's noise?

Children make noise. Clearly! They romp, they play, they are just sometimes loud. Some more, some less. A private garden is of course an Eldorado for children. There you can really let off steam and nobody says anything about the noise of children in the garden. Or is it?

There are many neighbors who want to forbid children to make noise. These are exactly the same people who think they can stop a baby from crying. Neither is possible in Germany! That means: if babies cry and children are loud, then they are allowed to do that.

Children's noise during quiet times

You can't do anything against the noise of children from the neighboring garden, even when it's quiet. Unless it's a whole pack of kids. Own children plus three friends are allowed. If there are more, you can call for calm, nobody has to accept that.

Keeping children to be quiet

Everything else has to be endured for better or for worse. Nevertheless, for the sake of good neighborliness, parents should encourage children to be quiet, at least during the rest periods. A conversation often helps more than admonitions or arguments. So make sure that your children are busy with a quiet game during the rest periods. The little ones can also paint, do puzzles or do handicrafts in the garden. How about, for example, building a stunt kite with your children or making lanterns yourself. The Internet offers a lot of suggestions here.

Or you can let your children explore nature a little. This is really fun with radios, for example! Your kids will surely love it.
