What options does a garden pavilion offer compared to a garden shed? Here you will find a comparison of the two options.

If you own a garden and like to spend time there, the question often arises as to whether you should buy a garden pavilion or a garden shed in order to seek protection from the strong sun and, above all, from the rain. Both forms are certainly suitable as a retreat, but both the garden house and the garden pavilion have their advantages and disadvantages.

The Garden House

Most people know a garden shed from small allotment gardens. There is a small garden house in each of the plots. But a garden shed is also suitable for the home garden. You can safely store your garden tools and garden furniture there, for example. Because no one can break into the stable and lockable little house that easily. This is how you keep your garden tools safe and ready to hand.

Some of the garden houses are even equipped with a covered terrace and thus offer space to sit outside or in the sheltered house. A disadvantage, of course, is that the garden house is tied to a specific location and that you sometimes even need a building permit to build it.

These small houses are usually built out of wood. It is important to ensure that there is a level foundation, which ideally is slightly higher than the ground. This protects the wood from moisture. To achieve this, the wood should also be treated with a wood protection varnish.

The Garden Pavilion

A garden gazebo also offers a number of advantages as sun protection or protection from the rain. You are usually more flexible with such a house than with a real garden house. There are also garden pavilions that are permanently installed in the garden, but there are also mobile garden pavilions. Folding pavilions, for example, can be easily transported in just a few simple steps. You are very flexible with such a pavilion and can always use it exactly where it is needed. The downside is of course that such a garden gazebo is not as stable as a garden shed or a fixed garden gazebo. But they are also a lot cheaper.

If you choose a permanent garden pavilion, the price goes up again, but so do the possibilities. You can choose between open and closed garden pavilions. The closed ones are particularly suitable for overwintering plants, as the large windows let in a lot of light.

The best choice?

Whether you choose a garden house or a garden pavilion depends entirely on your personal needs. So think about what you expect from the gazebo or the garden house and then decide at your leisure.
