Greenhouses are popular with all hobby gardeners. This is because with a greenhouse you can benefit from fresh vegetables all year round. On the other hand, the vegetables from the supermarket can really pack up. But every type of vegetable has its own requirements. If these are not taken into account, it can quickly happen that the plant does not bear fruit. Then you inevitably have to go back to the supermarket vegetables or you do without them completely.
It is particularly difficult to plant vegetables during the winter months, as the conditions such as warmth and sun are often not or only rarely given. In winter, the greenhouse is more used to protect your plants. Large potted plants can be accommodated well protected in the greenhouse. But the month of March finally heralds the start of the season again. The sun is appearing more and more often and also has the power to heat up a greenhouse to the required temperature.
Sowing early vegetables in the greenhouse
There are some types of vegetables that tolerate the sometimes very cold soil and can be planted in March without any problems.
Spinach to get strong
Kids love spinach, after all it makes you as strong as Popeye. But adults also like to eat spinach because it is simply delicious and, above all, he althy. Spinach that you sow in March can be harvested and enjoyed as early as May.
Sowing
The spinach seeds are planted about 1 to 3 centimeters deep in the ground. Then cover the grains with some soil, but do not press down. There should be a distance of about 15 centimeters from row to row.
Maintenance
Always keep the soil moderately moist, but never too wet. To prevent the well-known powdery mildew, you should always ventilate your greenhouse well.
Harvest

Plant the seeds 0.5 to 1 centimeter deep into the soil with a distance of at least 5 centimeters between them. Pay attention to the distance, otherwise the plants will grow too close together and will not get the light they need.
Care
Prick out the seedlings if they grow too close together. Radishes need consistent moisture. So always water regularly, but not too much. The plants do not tolerate waterlogging at all.
Radishes also prefer loose soil. So loosen the soil around the radish plant regularly. This is how strong and even tubers are formed.
Harvest
As soon as the radishes are ripe, they can be harvested. If you leave the bulb in the ground for too long, it will eventually become soft and furry.
Carrots as a snack between meals
If you plant carrots in the greenhouse in March, you can harvest your carrots before many others and enjoy the unique taste. By the way, carrots also go well with tomatoes. So you can put them in a bed without any problems.
Sowing
If you put the carrot seeds in your bed, you should make sure that the soil is not too damp so that as many seeds as possible germinate . The seeds are placed about 1 to 2 centimeters deep in the ground. Carrots can be sown close together, as not all seeds will always germinate.
