Gardening in spring - 4 tasks
- Before using equipment, check that it is still functional. This can prevent injuries. It also makes sense to check that the devices are not rusted.
- Anyone who protected the plants from the frost with mulch and layers of leaves in autumn should now remove these layers, because when the spring sun warms the soil, it would have difficulty penetrating with this layer.
- Tilling, i.e. loosening and fertilizing, should only be done when the soil is dry, otherwise there will be lumps and the nutrients cannot be absorbed.
- You can confidently cut the lawn for the first time in March. On this occasion, the old leaves that are still lying around from autumn and winter are also chopped up. A good fertilizer!
