The rosewood tree is indispensable in the tropics. The attractive plants with their fern-like foliage and the striking blue-purple bell-shaped flowers are an ornament. Here, too, jacarandas are becoming more and more common. However, these must be kept in the bucket. Therefore, pruning measures are necessary for the fast-growing plant. In isolation, the jacarandas reach impressive sizes between five and twenty meters. The trees grow amazingly fast. When the trunk is about two meters long, the rounded crown begins to form. Older trees impress with the conspicuous blue to violet panicle blossoms, which literally color entire streets in southern countries. The flowers exude a delicate scent reminiscent of honey.

It's no secret that German hobby gardeners usually have to do without the much-admired jacaranda flower. If the trees are pruned regularly, they cut a good figure on the balcony and terrace, but they do not reach the growth height required for flowering. Flowering can only be expected from a height of two meters. Furthermore, the hobby gardener needs a lot of patience, because the plants have to reach an age of about ten years before the first flowers appear.
