So if you grow kale in your own garden, you can enjoy fresh vegetables even in winter. It is only important that he gets frost in any case. Because then starch is converted into sugar and this is what makes the kale really tasty.

Kale is really tasty and brimming with nutrients, but there is one downside to leafy greens: when you put kale in the pot, it collapses a lot. What initially looks like a massive portion ends up being a small pile of misery after the cooking process.

If you want to cook kale for several people, then you should cook a good portion. It is roughly said that for two people you need about a kilogram of fresh produce.

Cooking Kale - Instructions

Before kale can go into the pot, it has to be properly prepared.

First you need to remove the cabbage from the stalk. It works best if you just pluck it off.

Next it is blanched in portions. That means you put small portions in boiling s alted water for about two minutes. Then quench briefly and let drain.

Now you can cut the vegetables into small pieces. It is best to use a large, sharp knife for this.

Now the time has come, the cabbage can go into the pot. Put some clarified butter and finely chopped onions in the pot beforehand, first the kale and then with the vegetable brothbring to a boil. The aroma is just wonderful. Add a sip of broth from time to time so that nothing burns under the mixture. The leafy greens take about 1.5 hours to be fully edible.
