The door is too small and not enough space, once the garden house is up, you can hardly change anything. Therefore: plan properly before you buy.
If you enjoy spending time in your garden and enjoy the beauty of plants, sooner or later you will surely long for a garden shed. All equipment that is necessary for working in the garden can be stowed away neatly and easily there. To ensure that you can enjoy the little house for a long time, don't rush the purchase, but plan carefully.
Enjoy the new shelter for a long time
- Do I need a building permit?
The question quickly arises as to whether a building permit is required for a garden shed. Since this is handled differently from state to state, it is worth calling the building authority. In general, it can be said that the permit is not necessary for a garden house without a toilet and lounge - but it is better to ask the office how it looks in your individual case.
- With or without foundation?
Depending on the size of the shed, it is also worth thinking about a foundation. Depending on your budget, there are different versions to choose from. The advantage of a foundation is that the house has a longer lifespan and is also more stable.
- Garden shed made of wood or metal?
If you choose a garden shed (I highly recommend Biohort garden sheds!), it is better to choose a metal model over wood. Those who take care to choose rust-free metal hardly have any work to do with the care of their house. A wooden house, on the other hand, needs regular maintenance. And glazes are expensive, I can assure you!
- How big should my shed be?
You should think carefully about which devices you want to store there. While tools and small gardening equipment hardly take up any space on shelves on the wall, a scarifier or lawnmower takes up significantly more space. You may also want to use the tool shed to store bicycles there or use bicycleTool case to repair too? Then you not only need space on the wall to hang the bike there, but also room to move around for the repair work.
- Do I need a window in the garden shed?
If you want to set up a clamping table or a small workbench in the tool shed (mine is from Küpper), it makes sense to attach a window to the relevant side. Working in daylight is a lot more comfortable than having to keep a lamp on all the time.
- How wide does the door have to be?
Which door is used in the summer house is also a question that should not be underestimated. If a wide lawn mower or even a ride-on lawn mower is often used, it may make sense to choose a double wing door. With both doors open, bulky equipment can be brought in with ease.
- Do you have help setting up?
Not to forget the assembly itself: make sure that someone is there to help with assembly - two are better. Instead of giving up alone and frustrated at some point, it is much easier to assemble with several people and you will soon be enjoying your new shelter.
