The perfect choice of location
The evergreen rockroses, as their name suggests, prefer a sunny, dry (water-permeable) location, which is why they are also ideal for cultivation in the rock garden. Due to the growth height of 10 to a maximum of 30 centimeters are suitableSunroses but also for grave design and as a bed border.
You should grow sunroses yourself in early spring (from around March) either from seeds or buy them as perennials and plant them directly in the garden bed. You can also propagate existing sun roses by cuttings.
» Tip: Before planting the perennials in the soil, you should enrich the soil with some compost to make it easier for them to grow.
Proper care for sunroses
➤ Promote Flowering
The sun rose, which blooms from May to August, hardly needs any care. You should only cut off wilted flowers as early as possible so that new flowers can form quickly on the sun rose.
➤ watering/fertilizing
Solar roses are also very insensitive during long periods of drought. Nevertheless, you should provide the plant perennial with irrigation water from time to time. However, you must then ensure that no backwater forms around the plant. Fertilizer application, on the other hand, is only necessary when necessary.
➤ Pruning
Immediately after the last flowering, you should prune the rockrose vigorously so that the perennial plant becomes more and more compact and can survive even frosty winter days better.
