You don't have to buy plant strengtheners. For example, you can also make comfrey manure and use it to strengthen the plants. Instructions and tips here.

Unfortunately, many gardeners are still not familiar with comfrey manure, although it is a very good plant strengthener (fertilizing effect), which makes plants more resistant to diseases and pest infestation. This is primarily due to their valuable, ecologically harmless ingredients such as potassium, phosphate, nitrogen and trace elements. That's why you should definitely make your own comfrey manure.
» Tip:
You can easily combine comfrey manure with nettle manure or even mix it together, which gives the manure additional magnesium and iron.
Grow or collect comfrey?
Comfrey grows primarily in wetlands, which is why it is commonly found along river banks, where even large quantities can be easily collected. But comfrey is also very easy to care for, so you can easily grow it in your garden if you plan to use comfrey manure more often in the future.
» Tip:
This delicate lilac flowering plant can be grown in sun or partial shade and even thrives in dry soil.
Prepare comfrey manure
Step 1:
For the comfrey manure, the leaves are primarily needed, from which you have to pluck off about 1 kilogram.
Step 2:
Then roughly chop these leaves, place them in a plastic container and add 10 liters of rainwater. Then you have to cover the brew with an air-permeable cotton cloth (because of the flies and beetles).
Step 3:
Now you only have to stir the comfrey manure once a day until it has fermented. You can recognize this condition by the smell or by the fact that the manure no longer foams.
» Tip:
You can also process comfrey into oil, ointments or creams and use it externally. Comfrey helps with bruising, sciatica and phlebitis, for example.
Use comfrey manure correctly
The comfrey manureshould always be used diluted with water (1:10). However, you should only water the plant soil and never the plant itself from above, otherwise the pungent liquid manure could damage the plant.
Comfrey manure should be used with plants that consume a lot, such as tomatoes or courgettes. You can also use comfrey manure as a kind of liquid fertilizer for outdoor potted plants. This makes the plants more resilient and they do far better in the pots.
