In September most fruit trees are ready to be harvested. After the harvest, the trees require very special care.
September and October is high season for some fruit trees. This is how the plums ripen (not to be confused with the plums, which are darker and ripen in summer) and whet the appetite for a juicy plum cake. But autumn apple varieties are also now ripe for harvest. While plums are usually harvested in one go, autumn apples are not all ripe at the same time and must be harvested in separate batches.Harvest fruit trees
Harvest apples in dry weather as apples are tender when wet and cannot be stored for long periods of time. Pears are also ripe for harvest. Incidentally, it doesn't matter if you pick unripe pears here. If you store them in the room, they will continue to ripen.
Care for fruit trees
Besides all the picking, you should also look at the fruit tree itself. In the course of the season, the fruit tree can get numerous wounds - wind and weather are responsible for this. You should then simply cut back shoots that are damaged. If the wounds are larger, treat them with wax or a wound repellent to prevent disease and infection.
