Admittedly, it might not sound like a he althy vegetable side dish at first, but it's still delicious, especially for onion fans.
Whether with a juicy steak or with poultry and fish - onions always go well. Fried onions can also be the icing on the cake with various salads. The crispy onions are also a delicious alternative to potato chips and the like. But now to the recipe.
Ingredients and tools for frying onions
- 4 onions
- Type 405 wheat flour
- ½ liter sunflower or rapeseed oil
- S alt
- sharp knife
- Cutting Board

- Fryer or large pot

Preparing Fried Onions
➢ Step 1:
First the onions are carefully peeled and then cut into thin rings with a sharp knife on a chopping board. The oil is either poured into a saucepan or deep fryer and then heated. The sliced onion rings must now be thoroughly dabbed dry with kitchen paper; no more juice should escape.
➢ Step 2:
Now put some of the wheat flour in the bowl and turn the onion rings in it. As soon as the fat has reached a temperature of 170 degrees, the onions can be added.
➢ Step 3:
Fry the onions until they turn golden brown. They are removed from the fat with a sieve and then drained well on kitchen paper. Now just season with s alt and enjoy!
