A ride-on mower saves a lot of time and physical effort. But did you know that thanks to accessories, your mower can do much more than just mow the lawn?
Your lawn tractor can do more than just mow![/caption]Your own home and associated property with lots of greenery - if you can call this your own, you really are lucky. There is no question that the relaxation factor is priceless, but the fact that a piece of land like this requires a lot of work is often overlooked by envious looks.
One of the most time-consuming jobs in the garden or on the property is mowing the lawn. Anyone who has more than 500 square meters to mow knows what I'm talking about. With a hand lawnmower, whether electric or petrol, you can easily spend the whole Saturday doing it. To avoid this stress, sooner or later you will want a ride-on mower or lawn tractor. This wish is understandable, but also a bit expensive.

The season is actually over, why am I still coming around the corner with this topic? Quite simply because late autumn is the best time to start looking for a ride-on mower. Retailers don't want to take their goods with them into the next year and are therefore starting a number of discount campaigns, both on site and on the Internet. If you research and strike between October and February at the latest, you can make a lot of bargains.
I agree with you if you still have doubts despite the reduced prices. The purchase of a ride-on mower tears a significant hole in the household budget. Nevertheless, I would choose it again and again, because the amount of work saved is enormous. Especially because a ride-on mower can do much more than just mowing the lawn! If you upgrade your mower to a multifunction device, you have effective use all year round.
Use a ride-on mower to clear snow
Let's start with my favorite accessory. While I swept the sidewalk in front of our property armed with a snow shovel and broom, my neighbor went with mehis ride-on mower complete with a snow blade. I gasped, he grinned! ? Jokes aside, since last winter I am the proud owner of a snow blade!
Snow blade
When buying, make sure that the snow plow can be operated from the driver's seat (up, down, sideways). This makes it easier to push on uneven surfaces. A rubber lip should also be attached to the front part, this protects the paving stones.
Road S alt Pendant
As a property owner you are obliged to clear the path in front of your house. This not only means pushing snow, but also ensuring that no black ice forms. With the spreader, which is simply attached to the ride-on mower, you can complete this task in no time.
Snowblower
The snow blower is probably a little man's toy. Purchasing it as an accessory for the ride-on mower is only worthwhile if you live in a snowy area where the white splendor sometimes stands meters high and you can't make any headway without crampons. For all other cases, the snow blade is sufficient.
Ride-on mower as a garden helper
Mowing the lawn remains the main task of the ride-on mower. For larger areas and with the appropriate extension, the mower can also take on some physically difficult garden work.
Tiller
We still dig by hand, but the purchase of a tiller is more and more an issue. You have the choice between a separate device or the accessory tiller for the lawn tractor. However, keep in mind that your garden area must be large enough so that the purchase is worthwhile and the tractor / ride-on mower can turn without any problems. Let us advise you, not every tiller will fit your device.
Rider mower with mulching function
This is where garden lovers differ - mulch function yes or no? In any case, you save yourself an operation if your ride-on mower is equipped with this function. The clippings are not "thrown" into the catcher as usual, but remain finely chopped on the turf.
Scarifier for attaching
I stand behind this accessory 100 percent. Simply attach to the ride-on mower or lawn tractor and make its rounds. The pointed tines or star-shaped blades (depending on the model) remove moss from the lawn, aerate it and thus promote he althier growth. You also need less time than with a hand scarifier. When is the right time to scarify is explained in our article When isscarify required.
Sweeping function for the ride-on mower
Finally, an accessory to help you keep the property clean. However, I would only recommend the sweeper that comes front-mounted to your ride-on mower for large, paved areas. The price is not worth it for small driveways, sidewalks or seating areas. So it makes more sense to pick up the good old street broom.
I realize you don't need every accessory. Whether and what goes on your ride-on mower is always decided by personal needs. As a rule of thumb: If certain work is only done very rarely, it is cheaper to continue doing it by hand.
