You don't have to buy new plants every year to harvest delicious strawberries in your own garden. Strawberries can be propagated in just 3 steps.

- Strawberries form offshoots themselves. These arise from the mother plant at a distance of 10 to 20 centimeters. Roots and leaves form there.
- Grow the plant. When the roots are well established, separate from the mother plant.
- They can now be placed in their new location as they are. If you want to be on the safe side, you can also put them in small flower pots. Don't put the plants too close together, otherwise they'll take up space.
Many strawberries are growing rampant, with the result that you could create entire strawberry fields. If that's too much for you, you can't avoid throwing away young plants or giving them away to your neighbors.
