Many gardeners like it when there is a gentle splash in the garden. For this you need either a pond, a fountain, a stream or an air stone. Since the first three options are very nice, but usually more expensive and involve more effort, the bubble stone is an option that you should take a closer look at. Build a bubble stone yourself, that's how it works!
- You will need a watertight container, such as a bucket that is lowered into the ground and filled with water.
- This is where the pump goes.
- A lid is now placed on the container, which must have two holes. One hole for the cable, the second for the riser.
- Now put a stone on top, which must be smaller than the vessel. This needs a straight through hole that you can drill yourself.
- The riser pipe is inserted into the hole from below.
- Now turn on the pump and you'll hear it splashing - and it looks very pretty.
Between the container and the air stone, the floor is thickly laid with grit or coarse gravel. This covers everything underneath and at the same time allows the water to seep well into the water tank again.
