A hardy and undemanding plant comes to us from the Canary Islands and is finding its way into gardens and terraces more and more often: the rosette thickleaf.
Thick rosette leaves need very little water
The advantage of the so-called thick rosette leaves is that the plant hardly needs any water. Watering once a week is enough - even in midsummer! So an optimal plant for people who like to forget to water the flowers. Place the thickleaf in the sun and look forward to wonderfully green plants that thrive in any pot.
Red-leaved Rosette Thickleaf
The leaves on this plant are sturdy and arranged in a rosette. But there is also the variety that appears as a mini tree - a great change on the terrace or balcony. But also perfect for indoors. In addition to the green variety, there are also the red-leaved rosette thick leaves. These turn green in winter, but in spring you can look forward to the leaves turning red again. And the plant even produces flowers. In late winter, i.e. in February and March, you can expect magnificent panicles of flowers up to 40 centimeters long.
