Slowly but surely the gardening season is coming to an end. And although winter is within reach, there is still a lot to do in the garden. The garden pond must also be winterized.
Since I've also been the proud owner of a pond since this year, I've been looking for instructions that briefly summarize all the important points. I finally found what I was looking for in a video by Fressnapf. Short, concise & informative. Now the winter can come - well, it can still take its time. ? But at least the fish make it through the winter in one piece.

Fish stay at the bottom of the pond in winter, where the water is warmest. That is why it is so important that the pond has a minimum depth of 1.20 meters.
Goldfish can usually remain in the pond. If it is a question of breeding forms, then the time to transfer the fish would be at a water temperature of around 10 degrees. Once the fish are hibernating, they should not be disturbed.
