Elderberry season is between mid-August and late September. Whether in cakes, as jam or in wine - they simply taste heavenly.
I've been preparing elderberry juice for the winter season for years. The video clip from Ron's Kitchen shows exactly how to do this and what goes into it. That way nothing can go wrong.
Elderberry not only tastes delicious, it is also very he althy. It contains a lot of vitamins A and C, iron, zinc and folic acid. Elderberry juice works wonders, especially during the cold season. Elderberries have a diaphoretic and antipyretic effect, allowing the flu to quickly go to waste. So you should always have two bottles of elderberry juice on hand during the cold season. It's best to do it yourself. ?
Good to know!!!
Elderberries are delicious, but can be toxic in large quantities and uncooked. The seeds contain sambunigrin, which can cause nausea, vomiting and dizziness. So always cook first and then eat.
