Support Perennials - How to build a plant support

Anonim

Some flowers really make you wonder how they can get such big buds when the plant can't hold them. Therefore, these perennials must be supported.

Peonies, delphiniums and poppies
This is particularly noticeable with peonies. The buds are sometimes so heavy that the stems bend or, in the worst case, snap off. This is especially common after rain. But other tall perennials such as delphinium or poppy often cannot withstand the heaviness of their own flowers. Proper support is important here.

Build your own plant support
You can buy these, but you don't have to, because first of all such purchased supports are expensive and often not in the Desired size available. We do it ourselves! All we need is a few branches or bamboo sticks and a string. The sticks or branches are stuck into the ground around the plant. Make sure that they are inserted deep enough and thus stable. Now a string is wrapped around the sticks and knotted. Be careful not to damage the plant with sharp edges. The plant support is ready.
