A really great plant for shady areas in the garden is the lady's slipper. This is probably the most magnificent orchid.
Shadow areas are difficult to plant
Shadow areas in the garden are often difficult to plant. Because most flowers and plants want sun so that they bloom really beautifully and lushly. That is why in many gardens you will find either few plants or only green contemporaries that do not have any special flowers, especially in the shade.
The lady's slipper feels at home in the shade
However, if you take a little look at shade plants, you will find that there are quite a few that bloom wonderfully and are made for exactly these places. This includes the women's slipper. It belongs to the orchid family and feels right at home in the shade.
Plant Lady's Slipper
The lady's slipper is not planted in spring, but in autumn. September and October are ideal for this. Be careful not to put it under bushes or trees, it doesn't like that as the roots can compete with it for space. Otherwise, the lady's slipper is undemanding and blooms in May on magnificent flower stalks that are up to 60 cm high.
