A private swimming pond in the garden naturally also requires regular maintenance. However, you can keep the maintenance effort relatively low if you take a few precautions. Maintain the swimming pond properly
There are a few rules that you should definitely follow if you own a swimming pond. If you stick to these, you can keep the maintenance effort low right from the start.
- Do not contaminate the swimming pond yourself (e.g. by wearing cosmetics).
- Always shower before using the swimming pond.
- Do not use chemical fertilizers and the like in the pond.
- Always remove faded flowers, leaves and similar organic garden waste from the swimming pond.
- Do not allow animals to enter a swimming pond.
- Use nutrient-poor plant substrates when planting water pond plants.
- Use mineral nutrient binders to largely avoid algae.
