Keeping ivy in check

And that can quickly become a nuisance. To keep ivy in check, you should provide it with root barriers when planting. You then have to trim it towards the top as you wish. You can limit its size, but also steer it in different directions.
Remove ivy
If you want to remove ivy completely, you can sometimes have a problem, namely when the plant has already grown too big, also what that roots are concerned. Here you can only help yourself with one remedy: Cut back permanently - for a whole year. Cut off as soon as new shoots form. So the roots of the ivy will starve and die over time.
