- Plants that produce a lot of flowers should be thinned out from time to time. Especially sunflowers and dahlias form more beautiful flowers when they are reduced. They also get a lot bigger that way.
- Dahlias, lilies and gladioli often develop flowers that are too heavy and can cause the flower to snap. To avoid this, you should support these plants. Tie dahlias together while lilies and gladioli are held on bamboo sticks.
- End of July is the best time to plant autumn crocuses. You should plant the onions up to 10 centimeters deep in loose soil.
- When you mow the lawn and don't know where to put the clippings, spread them out on the flower beds. This gives nutrients to the soil, keeps it moist and suppresses weed growth.
