If you take a sick plant home with you, you will not enjoy it for long, you have thrown a lot of euros out of the window and, above all, there is a risk that other plants will become infected. To avoid exactly that, you should take your time when buying plants and, above all, look very carefully.
Plants diseased by aphids
Aphids are fairly common. If you want to buy a plant, feel free to turn the pot several times and take a close look. You can recognize the aphids by their green, brown or black color. Aphids sit on the stems and also on the leaves. Feel free to wipe the leaves with your fingers. This is another way you can tell if you have aphids, because then it feels sticky.
Plants sick with powdery mildew
Powdery mildew is an extremely common plant disease that you can recognize by its white to gray coating. The shoots partially mutilate and leaves fall out. Mildew is a mold fungus, but there are two types:

- identifiable by a whitish color
- removes nutrients from the plant
- the leaves wither and fall off

- is on the underside of the leaf
- recognizable by a greyish coating

Plants diseased by rose rust
As the name suggests, only roses are affected by rose rust. The disease is fairly easy to recognize because yellow-orange to rust-red spots form on the upper side of the leaves. Rose rust is also a fungal disease. The more the fungus can sprout, the more dangerous it is for the plant. A little wind is enough and the spores will spread to all the surrounding leaves.
Sick plants caused by gray mold
Gray mold is also a plant disease that you can easily spot in the store. Of theFungus covers the leaves with a grey, felt-like coating. But the stalks and stalks of the plant can also be affected. If the plant itself is already weakened, the gray mold has an easy time. Plants that show even the slightest trace of gray mold should not be taken home.
