You want to keep your rose presents for a long time? Then simply preserve them with glycerine. You can find out how this is done here.
Every flower lover gives joy with a bouquet of fresh roses, whether for a birthday, a wedding anniversary or another occasion. Unfortunately, the joy only lasts for a certain amount of time, because the blooming present only has a limited lifespan. And so the rose is wistfully disposed of when it has faded. However, if you want to be reminded of a special event with your rose gift over a longer period of time, you can simply conserve your bouquet. You can then enjoy the bouquet for up to three years. All you have to do is follow the instructions below and follow a few tips.
How to preserve roses
❶ First you need glycerin from the pharmacy.
❷ Now mix 1 part glycerin with 2 parts warm tap water. You must stir the solution well. The glycerine-water mixture should be sufficient for the first filling of the vase and as irrigation water to refill the used liquid for the next two weeks.
❸ Now cut the stems of the roses and the accessories fresh before treatment.
❹ Now place the bouquet of roses in the vase filled with the mixture. The glycerin then replaces the water in the plant's hydration system. The excess water of the rose evaporates. The glycerin then remains in the plants as a preservative.
❺ When no more glycerine droplets emerge from the flower tips, the preservation is complete. Now all you have to do is remove the liquid from the vase.
How to properly handle the preserved roses
Now make sure that the roses don't come into contact with water anymore. It is therefore best to place the bouquet of roses in a vase filled with dry sand. Also, don't bring your preserved plants outdoors. They do not tolerate high humidity and direct sunlight.
Tip:
You should occasionally dust the roses with a duster or fine-haired brush. So you can enjoy the constant blooming of your bouquet.
Benefits of preservation
The roses preserved with glycerine are very temperature-tolerant. Temperatures of a few plus degrees up to 50 degrees Celsius are not a problem. Draft-prone places and insufficient daylight are also no danger for the preserved roses. So this is a much better method than drying flowers.
