If you like raspberries, you can quickly and easily turn a few bushes into a few more and the next year you will have wonderful fruits that everyone will like.
How it works:
- Pig off several root suckers with the shovel. Make sure the runners are strong. The thicker the better.
- Now dig up these roots and shorten them to about 10 to 15 centimeters. Leave small existing root suckers on the cuttings.
- Now the root cuttings are placed horizontally in a hole in the ground and covered with soil.
This work should be done in October or November. This allows the roots to develop over the winter months and sprout from March. To protect the roots from the cold, you should spread a layer of mulch, which you should remove in good time so that the spring sun can warm the soil. Incidentally, this method not only works for raspberries, but also for blackberries. So you can easily grow many new plants and harvest delicious fruits.
