If you want to create paths in the garden, for example, you should think about different paving. But which paving is suitable for terraces, paths and driveways?
Observe procedures
A garden or plot of land does not only consist of a meadow and beds. There is also a terrace, various paths and of course a property entrance. If you are handy and want to save money, you can create these things yourself. However, procedures and materials should be observed here in order to enjoy them for many years.
Paving for patios
A patio can be assumed to have a medium load from the lounging area and the seating. Natural stones and concrete blocks, but also clinker are suitable for the covering. If you don't like stone, you can of course equip the terrace with wood, gravel or bark mulch. A 5 cm layer of paving sand and a layer of gravel sand of at least 10 centimeters is recommended as a substrate.
Paving for paths
Paths have a low load, whereas a layer of 3 cm of paving sand and a layer of 5 cm of gravel sand are sufficient. Natural stone, concrete stone, stepping stones, gravel, clinker or bark mulch can be used.
Cobblestone for driveways
The driveway, on the other hand, is heavily used because cars drive over it. Here you should not use natural stone, concrete stone or clinker with a thickness of less than 6 cm. Grass pavers and gravel lawns are also possible. The subsoil should consist of 10 cm gravel sand, 15 cm mineral mixture and 5 cm grit.
